Postdoctoral fellowships: I encourage prospective applicants to get in touch about the possibility of applying for postdoctoral fellowships to join my group (e.g. Marie Skłodowska-Curie, BBSRC Fellowships, Wellcome ECA, Leverhulme, HFSP). I particularly encourage applicants returning to a career in research via the Daphne Jackson Fellowship scheme. Applicants will also be fully supported by the Faculty’s Fellowship Academy.

Postdoc and technician positions: Grant-funded positions will be advertised on  https://www.jobs.manchester.ac.uk when available.

PhD studentships: All potential applicants should get in touch by email before submitting an application to discuss motivation and suitability of the project. Funded studentships will be advertised on FindAPhD and the Faculty’s website. For self-funded/externally-funded studentships, I am happy to discuss projects involving evolutionary genomics, experimental evolution, evolutionary theory, antimicrobial resistance and/or extremophile evolution. Students interested in applying for externally-funded scholarships should contact me well in advance of any deadlines.
